A dangerous major volcanic eruption may be imminent at Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano

The alert level for the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii has been raised from “orange” to “red.” This indicates “major volcanic eruption is imminent, underway, or suspected with hazardous activity both on the ground and in the air.” Ash clouds have reached as high as 10,000 to 12,000 feet above sea level. The USGS has warned the volcano may become “more explosive.”
