Female teen celebrities hold a special place in any girl’s heart, whether you wished for that certain haircut, yearned to crack that perfect smile or idolized that sheer talent. As we launch the competition for Teen Queen Madness, get ready to bask in the glow of these adolescent superstars–but prepare yourself to make some tough decisions, because ultimately, just like Highlander, there can be only one.
Before we get to the polls for this first round, here’s the interactive Sassy bracket:
Now, let’s take a look at these fierce femmes and take sides! (If you thought our posts would be impartial, this is clearly your first FYA Madness.)
(1) Sarah Michelle Gellar vs. (16) Bianca Lawson
Bianca Lawson, our Wild Card, has managed to defeat the ravages of time when it comes to aging, but it’s probably no coincidence that when it came to sharing screen time with SMG, Bianca’s days were numbered.
(8) Brittany Snow vs. (9) Shannen Doherty
Brittany might be an aca-awesome singer, but when it comes to ruling with an iron fist, me thinks the queen in this round reigns over the 90210.
(5) Winona Ryder vs. (12) Chloe Grace Moretz
Sure, Chloe is pretty kickass, but Winona is forever.
(4) Katie Holmes vs. (13) Lili Reinhart
I don’t wannna wait for the votes to come in to call the winner in this match-up!
(6) Michelle Williams vs. (11) Neve Campbell
I scream, you scream, we all scream for… Michelle, probably.
(3) Lindsay Lohan vs. (14) Raven-Symoné
Lindsay may be a beach club-owning trainwreck right now, but back in her heyday, she was pretty damn fetch.
(7) Julia Stiles vs. (10) Christina Ricci
This is the first tough one for me, personally. Because while there are 10 things I love about Julia Stiles, Christina’s Casper pulls at my heart every Now and Then.
(2) Kristen Bell vs. (15) Kate Bosworth
C’mon, marshmallows. Like you even have to think about it.
And that’s a wrap on the first round of the Sassy bracket! Check back tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday for the rest of the matchups, and be sure to cast your votes for the entirety of Round One by this Saturday (March 7) at midnight; we’ll post the results Sunday.
In the meantime, all of these magazine shoot pics have me waxing nostalgic for my favorite lewks of the ’90s (like, can I get away with a zigzag part?). Join me in the comments with your thoughts on the best and worst of teen queen fashion trends.
