YA Onscreen Things

This week in YA Onscreen: Captain Marvel, TV trailers, YA adaptation news, and more.

Of course, the big and sad news this week was Luke Perry’s passing. Here are a few tributes from the Fug GIrls, Vulture, The Hollywood Reporter, Buzzfeed, and just the general internet sharing stories about what a great guy he was.

Social Media Things

Happy Captain Marvel Weekend!

Thread of a (very) thoughtful redesign of the Monsters, Inc. scare floor.

Uh. Presented without comment.

Not to be left out, the ’90s were also wild.

Casper clapback!

I don’t know who needs to hear this (as much as anybody can *hear* visual media #pedantry), but:

On the flip side, this is closer to my own creative process.

We stan a queen who was ahead of her time.

Nicole Cliffe always has the best tweet prompts, but this story is A+++++.

Relatable doggo.

Wait for it…

How to tell if you’re Too Online. (Unless you’re me, in which case the length of this social media section would have already answered that.)

Miscellaneous Things

Have you been following FYA’s Teen Queen Madness? Voting for Round One ends on Saturday, March 9th, and Round Two starts on Monday, March 11th!

Celebrating the women of Harry Potter.

Extremely cool: NASA plans history’s first all-female spacewalk for March 29!

Do you eat the same meal every day? I almost always have the same breakfast on weekdays (peanut butter on bread), and I pretty much ate the same lunch for the entirety of my public school education (peanut butter and condensed milk sandwiches). (I’m very clearly like 98% peanut butter at this point.)

Mark your calendars and save your coins: Disney’s Star Wars theme park is opening on May 31st at Disneyland and August 29th at Disney World.

That’s it for this week. Feel free to share your thoughts on these or any links we may have missed in the comments below!
